How dynamic QR codes work
From dashboard to print-ready file in under 5 minutes. No developer needed.
Create a dynamic code
Enter a destination URL and generate. QRoute encodes a short redirect on your domain — not the raw URL.
Download and print
Export PNG or SVG at any resolution. Hand it to your packaging vendor, printer, or include it in a digital asset.
Update whenever you need
Log into the dashboard, type a new URL, and save. Every existing printed code follows within seconds.
Read the analytics
See who scans, from where, on what device, and at what time. Use routing rules to personalise the next step.
Beyond the redirect
Dynamic QR codes on QRoute come with analytics, routing, custom domains, and bulk generation — on every plan.
Edit the destination anytime
Change where your QR code points — from the dashboard, instantly. Yesterday's landing page becomes today's offer. The printed code stays the same.
Real-time scan analytics
Total scans, unique visitors, device, OS, country, city, and browser — live. Filter by date range, export to CSV. Bot traffic filtered out.
Custom branded domain
Your QR codes resolve through go.yourbrand.com instead of a generic shortener. One DNS record, automatic TLS, and your brand on every scan.
Geo and device routing
Route by country, region, device, OS, browser language, or time of day. One code sends a customer in Delhi and one in Dubai to different pages.
A/B destination testing
Split scans by weight between two destinations. Analytics report per route so you know which offer, page, or creative wins.
Bulk CSV generation
Import a spreadsheet with one row per code. Generate an entire product catalogue or book series in one operation, each with its own destination.
Pause or redirect instantly
Product recalled? Campaign ended? Pause the QR code instantly from the dashboard. Scanners see a safe fallback — not a dead link or 404.
Scan history never lost
Scan history is retained for your plan's window. Downgrading pauses codes — it does not delete history. You can re-activate and keep building.

Learn moreWhy teams switch to dynamic
“We printed 5 lakh cartons before our website migration. With static QR codes that would have been a ₹4 lakh reprint. With QRoute we updated the destination in 20 seconds and the cartons are still live in the market.”
Arjun Mehta
Marketing Director · Zindagi FMCG
“Our textbooks have a 5-year print life. Dynamic QR codes mean we can link chapter 3 to a new video syllabus every year without touching the printing plates. Saved us 3 reprints in 2 years.”

Common questions
- What is a dynamic QR code?
- A dynamic QR code stores a short redirect URL instead of the final destination. You can change where that URL points at any time from your dashboard — without reprinting or redistributing the code.
- What is the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?
- A static QR code encodes the destination directly and permanently — once printed, it cannot be changed. A dynamic QR code encodes a short redirect URL that you control. You can update the destination, add routing rules, and view scan analytics.
- Do dynamic QR codes expire?
- QRoute dynamic QR codes do not expire on their own. Your subscription plan determines how many active codes you can have. Codes on a cancelled account are paused, not permanently broken — they can be re-activated.
- Are dynamic QR codes slower to scan?
- The difference is imperceptible. A dynamic redirect adds roughly 50–150 ms. The analytics pipeline runs asynchronously and never delays the redirect.
- Can a dynamic QR code route by country or device?
- Yes. QRoute supports routing by country/region, device type, browser language, time of day, and weighted A/B splits. Test any rule in the simulator before it goes live.
- When should I use a static QR code?
- Use static codes when the destination never changes and you don't need analytics — Wi-Fi passwords, personal vCards, or one-time event handouts. For anything at scale or reused across seasons, dynamic is preferred.
